Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recyling Center

The Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (NWLERC) was founded by MD19 Lions Clubs in 2004. It is a Multiple District 19 Lions endorsed foundation and is recognized by Lions International as an official Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center. It is one of 18 Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers in the world.

NWLERC is organized as a Washington State nonprofit corporation and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under the United States Internal Revenue Code. NWLERC's mission is to provide used eyeglasses free of charge to people in remote areas of developing countries, delivered at the hands of volunteer eye care professionals. NWLERC is staffed entirely by volunteers.

Operations are funded by donations from Lions Clubs and contributions from the public. Donation may be designated for general operations, missions, or the capital building fund. All donations not designated are dedicated to general operations.

NWLERC is located at 9013 Mullen Road SE, Olympia, Washington 98513. It is staffed by volunteers Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Workparties are welcome and are available on request.
